Chile 'RitaStill everyone's favorite stop on the Old Butterfield Stagecoach Line, the famous La Posta de Mesilla Restaurant, already known for the wonderful cuisine served, now offers over 100 specialty Tequilas, several specialty drinks, and some of the coldest beer in Town from it's own Corn Exchange Cantina.

The quaint and relaxing Cantina was once the lobby to the famous Corn Exchange Hotel where many famous people dined and stayed during the late 1800's. Looking around you notice a beautiful stained glass window with over 700 pieces depicting a wagon and team as they ride down from the Organ Mountains. The bar with its intricate detail and natural beauty, was built by local craftsman Neil McMillan. Soon customers will be able to take a walk into the past by looking at the hotel registers (dating back to 1875) of the Corn Exchange Hotel hanging on the walls. These fascinating documents cast a light on what life must have been like at the hotel during those times.

Today, this Cantina is one of two cantinas on the premises that provide ice cold "Cervezas" and a wide variety of Award-Winning Margaritas to accommodate the most discerning of Margarita connoisseurs. The house Margarita, "La Posta 'Rita" is made with SauzaTequila, Cointreau, sweet/sour and freshly squeezed lime juice. One of the more attractive drinks (tastes good too!) is the "Mesilla Sunset 'Rita". It's as pretty as our sunsets in the Mesilla Valley! For the person who really appreciates great Tequila prepared the old fashion way, the "El Classico" is hand shaken and made with only the finest ingredients: 1800 Tequila, freshly squeezed lemon / lime juice, and Cointreau.

Or try our infamous La Posta's "Bloody Maria", quickly becoming a favorite of the regulars. The "Bloody Maria" is made with the house Sauza Tequila, La Posta's very own famous "Salsa", and served with a "Grande" celery stick and serrano Chile. A truly tasty and spicy "Bloody"; NOT FOR WIMPS!

The addition of the wide variety of refreshing Margaritas and Tequilas to La Posta can only add to the outstanding reputation established over the years.
